THE BIBLE, GOD'S WRITTEN WORD, ALONE REVEALS JESUS CHRIST.

THESE SIMPLE TRUTHS LIE AT THE HEART OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST.

Every Canadian, man, woman, child, of every colour, class, or culture needs this Saviour, this Gospel, this Bible.

Any religious, social, cultural, political or commercial interest that opposes, or distorts, or suppresses this Gospel; that denies or diverts our access to our Lord Jesus imperils souls.

The broad aim of the CPL is just this: the 'defense and confirmation of the Gospel' in Canadian life.

The 'real Gospel' was recovered from the Scriptures, and unleashed to the modern world through the Protestant Reformation.

Just as the ancient Creeds safeguarded how salvation is provided, through the Scriptures' witness to the Person of Christ and the Trinity of the Godhead; So the Reformation watchwords Sola Scriptura, Sola Gratia, Solus Christus, And Sola Fide safeguard how salvation is received. All these are essential to 'the faith once delivered unto the saints.'

The specific objective of the League then, is to defend and confirm the Biblical gospel by advancing these basic Reformation watchwords.

On this simple ground "at the foot of the cross" we cordially invite born-again, Bible-believing Christians and churches across the evangelical Protestant spectrum to stand together, defend and advance the central saving truths of 'the real Gospel.'

Canadians at large must not be allowed to be taken in by the pretensions of the Roman Catholic religion to be 'the Church' in Canada; or to think there is no meaningful difference between Roman Catholicism and true Biblical Christianity. Educate them!

Evangelical Christians must be awakened to their Protestant heritage; educated in the vital necessity of Reformation doctrine to safeguard 'the real Gospel'; and strengthened to maintain their separation from Rome. Encourage them!

Roman Catholics are without question the largest single community of unseen, unsaved people in Canada today. They need our Saviour, our Gospel, our Bible: and Evangelicals need to learn how to witness to them with love and integrity. Evangelize them!

This is our task for today; we pursue it by our Quarterly The Protestant Challenge; by our Reformation rallies; by special conferences, seminars and institutes; by our book ministry; and by the General Secretary's preaching ministry.
